A Testimonial - 5 Mustard Seeds
A Butterfly Effect:
Are you noticing the transition here? I went from a man who didn’t even think about God to becoming a Prayer Minister,
an Evangelist, a Social Worker, and a Minister for the Sick. All of this in a matter of months.
I arranged for the cremation of my friend, the cleaning and exiting of his apartment, which by the way, when the wife and I did that
fun chore, we went to the landlord hoping to find his emergency contact, thus hoping to find a family member, but only to find
his emergency contact was (Guess Who), ME. I made his final arrangements, gave the eulogy at his informal local service (co-workers mostly)
and left his ashes on my desk for almost a year until a niece finally showed up looking for him. She was the first family member to
even know he was deceased. Eventually I was asked to attend the funeral, somewhere out in the wilderness of south central (Ohio that is). Then
while I was there was requested to give a eulogy because I sadly, knew him better than anyone. Now I was presiding over funeral services?
The Final Countdown:
The final seed was about to plant itself right in my back yard. You’ve read my story. You understand what was about to happen in my life,
but here is where The Lord touched my heart and gave me the inner Peace so many never receive. I was broke, I had lost my
job and my house. I could no longer provide for my family, which was very deep since I had my step-daughter and her daughter under
my roof as well. My last paycheck was on September 9, 2015. I was moving into a new home October 1st, much smaller but still large
enough to hold all my wife’s sentimental stuff. I procured funds from wherever I could before I couldn’t anymore as the SSD (Disability)
rules require I be without any income for five months in order to qualify and receive my benefits.
With a budget of over two thousand dollars a month and my wife only getting $827.00 a month from her disability,
we were going to be on the streets within a month. My stepdaughter did her part by working extra but this was
in no way going to make it.
